100 Years at the 100: A Century of Learning in Lake Placid, FL
A delighted audience watched the premier of 100 Years at the 100 on Saturday, October 18, 1925. The documentary film was produced for the Centennial Anniversary of the South Florida State College – Lake Placid Center in Lake Placid, Florida and was shown on-campus in the auditorium.
Community leaders, faculty, students, and many alumni of the Lake Placid School attended.
The school was founded in 1925 and taught grades 1 through 12. As the town grew they added on to the school but eventually outgrew it. New elementary, middle, and high schools were built on the west side of town and the original building became a college. The film was written, produced, and edited by R. Michael Brown of Brown Media Lab, the multimedia division of RMichaelBrown.com.
